Central African Republic Technical Information – In Details
Central African Republic Voltage
The voltage in Central African Republic is 220 V which is the same voltage used in China, Greece, Russia, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
220 V has an advantage over lower voltage such as the 110 V that it is cheaper to transmit. On the other hand, 220 V is more dangerous than lower voltages.
Central African Republic Electrical Frequency
The electrical frequency in Central African Republic is 50 Hz.
Note that most household and electrical/electronic equipments nowadays support multiple frequencies, so generally, electrical frequency is not an issue compatibility wise.
Central African Republic Plug/Socket Type(s)
The plugs used in Central African Republic are C or E.
Plugs/sockets are usually an issue when it comes to traveling, so always make sure you travel with a universal plug adapter.
Central African Republic DVD Region
Central African Republic uses DVD Region 5.
DVD Region 5 is used by Russia and countries in the former Soviet Union, as well as African countries with the exception of Egypt and South Africa (both are region 2).
Note that a region 5 DVD cannot play on a DVD player supporting another region. There are, however, some region free DVD players available that can be used to overcome this.
Central African Republic Blu-ray Region
Central African Republic uses Blu-ray Region B.
Blu-ray Region B is used across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Theoretically, a region B Blu-ray disc should not play in Blu-ray disc players supporting another region. However, most Blu-ray discs are now region free (meaning they can work on any Blu-ray disc player), and most Blu-ray players are also region free. Hence, compatibility is rarely an issue (for now) when it comes to Blu-ray discs.
Central African Republic GSM Freqency(ies)
Central African Republic uses the GSM 900 GSM frequency.
When travelling, make sure that your phone supports the GSM frequency of the country you’re traveling to. Usually the supported GSM frequencies are printed on the box of your phone as well as its manual.
